I am Kali and I used to live in a clan who served the Plaguebringer. What lovely days those were when I lived with a relatively peaceful clan. The best part was that I was free. Free to do what I wanted. Free in a mind that had never known such pain as I would later encounter.

Some creatures, I don't know where they came from, took control of everyone in my clan. Including me. For years I didn't know how it felt to take a breath on my own or how to dream without something always watching.

So how did I get to this clan?

Being the Head of a department is extremely stressful. Anything that goes wrong is your fault. If your department members act badly, it is your fault. I wish I couldn't read minds as whenever I go by Seitou I feel the stress he has on a daily basis.

I couldn't stand having that kind of stress. It's bad enough feeling it.

And being the only member of your department? It is a whole other area of stress.

I know my clan, that myself and Kaliforna started a long time ago, is always in need of growth. It is always in need of adapting to the changing world of Sornieth. Sometimes we don't need things at certain times and then that changes.

Being a servant of the Shadowbinder makes one very aware of this fact. Our deity is a trickster, ever changing and hiding in the shadows. We should also learn from her the fact of being prepared before hand. To hide in the shadows our greatest developments until a fit time to deploy them.

Sometimes changes come in the form of a dragon who shows you something you were missing. That is where Vergere comes in.
